Home State Bank’s Jefferson location is excited to welcome Al Perales for an hour-long fraud education event Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 10 to 11 am, at Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson.
Home State Bank has seen a significant increase in fraud activity and understands that scammers are getting more creative and aggressive. To educate, prevent fraud, and to protect our community members, Home State Bank is hosting this event.
Bob Allen, bank president & CEO, said, “We feel a strong responsibility to protect all members of our communities from financial threats to the greatest extent possible, while also providing guidance on how our experienced team can assist if you are concerned that you have been impacted by a fraud scheme.”
Guest speaker Al Perales is a Consumer Protection Investigator for the Iowa Attorney General’s Office. For 19 years, Perales has been protecting Iowans, especially older Iowans, from fraud. In his line of work, Perales has conducted hundreds of investigations, seen all types of scams, and tracked down many thieves and charlatans. Perales will educate participants on scams and deceptive tactics plaguing our state while providing tips to protect Iowans from falling prey to nefarious situations.
This event is free and open to the public. No registration is needed. Community members are encouraged to take advantage of this educational opportunity to keep themselves and their financial assets safe.
